Virtual Morning Reports

There are two different formats of presentation, both will be 30-40 minutes.

Spontaneous morning report

Frequency?

4 times a week

What will it look like?

We will NOT preselect a case.

Instead, a member of the audience volunteers to present a case that the rest of are blinded to.

We will ask two members of the audience to volunteer to be active participants in the case.

Reza and Rabih will facilitate a discussion with the crowd.

A CPSolvers team member will jot down the case details on a virtual white board.

Prepared morning report

Frequency?

Once a week

What will it look like?

A prepared case and a pre-selected case facilitator will facilitate the conversation.

We’ll have a select group of “active participants” (the number unfortunately limited due to technological limitations of these virtual meetings), who will take turns responding to the case.

Separately, we’ll have an “audience” at these reports that will be unable to respond verbally, but will have the opportunity to interact with the case through live polling and instant messaging.

A CPSolvers member will monitor the audience messages and have the opportunity to highlight notable contributions to the whole group.

How can everyone participate? The Chat!

The facilitators and the active participants will be talking through the case, everyone can participate in the conversation!

How?

The chat function in zoom allows everyone to chime in.

We’d encourage you to participate in this as much as you’d like.

Once you join the conversation, you become a fellow Clinical Problem Solver.

Here are the principles that CPSolvers always adheres to:

  • Promote a positive & vibrant learning environment. Every statement all of us make should be brimming with kindness and respect. If it’s not, we won’t say it.
  • Show our work as if you are an active paricipant. The answer is important, but not nearly as important as the thought process. Make sure you have a why (your analysis) before your what (diagnosis).

We’re aiming to fill the educational gaps inevitably caused by this pandemic. To effectively do so, we would love your feedback and thoughts on these virtual reports. Please don’t hesitate to tweet your thoughts to @CPSolvers or email us at theclinicalproblemsolvers@gmail.com.

Dx Office Hours

The goal is recreate a casual environment where can kick back, relax, and talk clinical reasoning.

Come with a diagnostic reasoning-related question, and the CPSolvers will try to create a conversation around this topic.

Every Sunday
